The Garden Tomb on Holy Saturday
acrylic on canvas panel, 11" x 14" by American Artist Hilary J. England
This romantic fine artwork was painted on-site, at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, the purported tomb of Jesus Christ.
"The Garden Tomb on Holy Saturday" was painted during the crush of Easter weekend in Jerusalem -- but the kind volunteers at the Tomb allowed me to stay on after the site closed, as the weather had been rainy and violent earlier, and it was very quiet later that day. It was almost surreal, knowing this was a sacred tomb of my Lord Jesus, and to be able to enter it, and paint there, in communion, was both a magnificent and humbling experience.
The painting is signed front and back and will be framed to suit.

âś® About the Artist âś®
Hilary J. England .. a professional artist and world traveler.
As a landscape painter .. many of these impressionist small oil studies are painted plein-air [on location] amid the magnificent regions of our earth.
I paint/work every day. Whether plein air or in-studio (sometimes both) and a variety of different mediums, including watercolor, pastel, and charcoal.
My work has won support from art collectors from all over the world. They are my fellow travelers with kindred vision and I greatly appreciate their support.
Kind regards,
Hilary J. England, Field's End Art Studio
